We Out Here Abram Wilson Takeover 🎪

We’re excited to be returning to the We Out Here Festival to takeover the Big Top for the third year running! This time we have joined up with the We Out Here team to run a competition in which two artists can win a place to perform at the Abram Wilson takeover slot in The Big Top on Thursday 15 August.

If you are in the early stages of your career creating original music, and you’d love a chance to showcase at this amazing festival, then all you’ll have to do is send us a brief video demonstrating your talent between 1 – 31 May. The competition is open to solo, duo or trio acts.

In previous years awesome musicians including Plumm, Amy Gadiaga, Verushka, MEI, BINA and Bad Honey have performed at The Abram Wilson Big Top takeover.

How to enter:

Email (or file transfer if the file is more than 20 MB) or send a link to a short video of you performing your music (1 – 2 mins) to [email protected].

Please include contact info including any links to your bio or socials.

We will acknowledge receipt of all entries.

Here’s some notes about the competition rules:

The competition is open to UK based musicians of any age in the early stages of their career.

The winners will perform an approximately 30 minute slot as part of the Abram Wilson takeover on 15 August.

By saying ‘emerging’ or ‘early stages of a career’ we mean artists less than 3 years into a professional career, and having no representation (i.e. no record label or publisher).

We’re looking for artists that’d be at home on a We Out Here stage curated by Abram Wilson, i.e with a focus on jazz, soul, hip hop, house, afro or electronica.

Music must be the entrant’s original composition with no samples.

We will not hold the rights to any music and we will not keep it on file after the competition has ended.

We cannot offer feedback on any unsuccessful entries.

Winners will be selected by a roundtable in early June consisting of a We Out Here representative and a panel of professional musicians, including AW ambassadors. Their decision will be final.

We welcome entries from artists of all backgrounds, however we will be prioritising musicians from minoritised backgrounds in line with our charitable objectives.

Competition winners

The competition winners must be free on 15 August and willing to travel to the festival site in Dorset.

Travel costs will be compensated, but must be agreed upon in advance.

A performance fee will be paid of £150 per musician for the performance (so £150 for a solo act, £300 for a duo, £450 for a trio).

Winners must be willing to be named and have their performances filmed for publicity purposes.
