Philippa Project picked up by Schomburg Centre, NYC
Earlier this year the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, based in Harlem, NYC included a full page article about the Philippa Project in their members magazine.
The Schomburg Center is where most of Philippa Schuyler’s archived materials live, everything from her compositions and recordings to family photos and diary entries. The article covered mine and director, Pia Furtado’s research trip back in September 2012, which seems like a very long time ago now! I thought it would be nice to post the article to remind us of how far we’ve come since then.
