“Horsfall’s vocals are reminiscent of that cult dance band revivalist Max Raabe and, like the charismatic Berliner, he knows exactly how to bring the past to life.” – The Sunday Times (Album of the Week, 2014)

“A concise, lyrical player and an especially fine singer: Swinging, impassioned, but never overstated.” – JazzLives, USA

The Abram Wilson Foundation is proud to present one of the most in-demand jazz trumpet players and vocalists in the UK.

Peter Horsfall (aka ‘Sweet Pete’) is best known on the jazz scene for his trumpet playing with The Kansas Smitty’s House Band and his own group, Basin Street Brawlers.  On 26th June 2015 at 5:30pm in the foyer of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre he will be leading the Peter Horsfall Quartet, showcasing his highly original vocal style, inspired by the singing of Billie Holiday and the tight swinging small-groups of Nat ‘King’ Cole, Art Tatum and Slam Stewart.

Expect hip new vocal arrangements of classic melodies, underpinned by an uncompromising swing.
