It’s that time of year again when we get to celebrate JAZZ across the globe.  And what better way to do that than to let you all know what’s in store for the next couple of months.

We have some very exciting funding news to share with you in the not too distant future which may or may not involve a certain famous bear…can you guess?

We also kicked off our 2016 jazz residency last month at the Hospital Club with Kansas Smitty’s and at the same time launched our Abram Wilson Foundation Trailblazers campaign. “Trailblazers? What is this?”, I hear you ask?  Well, it’s your chance to support some of the bestest, brightest young jazz musicians of all time (okay maybe not of all time, but they are pretty awesome) and be part of a super hip jazz community.

We are talking invites and exclusives, including a special invite to our monthly Hospital Club gigs. Not only that but you will get the warm fuzzy feeling of securing the future of the Abram Wilson Foundation and giving us the stability to deliver some incredible projects over the next few years.

“How do I get involved?” I hear you shout.

It’s easy! For the price of one Kansas Smitty’s julep a month you can become a Trailblazer. In other words, for just £10/month you can become an exclusive member of the Abram Wilson Foundation.

It’s super easy to do, just sign up here: https://mydonate.bt.com/donation/start.html?charity=103527

‘Et voilà!’, you are an official Abram Wilson Foundation Trailblazer. We’ve had a brilliant uptake so far so sign up and get a special invite to our next Hospital Club gig on 17th May.

What else?

We have our four year anniversary coming up very soon so we’re celebrating that one at St. James Theatre on 14th June. It’s going to be a mega special evening with music from The Philippa Project and a special performance from the Kansas Smitty’s House Band.

Tickets available here: https://www.stjamestheatre.co.uk/studio/an-evening-of-jazz-celebrating-the-abram-wilson-foundation/

And last but not least, the annual Abram Wilson No Fear Awards as part of the Generation Ladywood Showcase are coming up. On 14th July we’ll be heading to Symphony Hall in Birmingham to award 12 well deserved recipients with a No Fear certificate.  Two exceptional students will also receive their own instrument and private music lessons for a full academic year. Kind of amazing, right?

And that is all, for now. Keep checking back for more details on all of the above.

In the meantime, Happy International Jazz Day and if you’re in England, Happy Bank Holiday Weekend too!

Till soon!
